ParityQC is a Semifinalist of XPRIZE Quantum Applications

We’re excited to share that ParityQC has been selected as a Semifinalist in the XPRIZE Quantum Applications competition.

The focus of the competition is advancing quantum algorithms that can deliver real-world impact and address complex, global challenges. Out of 133 submissions from 31 countries, the judging panel has recognized 20 teams from around the world as Semifinalists, each selected for the plausibility and quality of their ideas.

In our proposal, we introduced a quantum algorithm for exactly solving hard combinatorial optimization problems – which can be integrated with a broad class of classical algorithms to achieve a super-quadratic speedup over their performance. By combining formal analysis with practical heuristics and circuit constructions, and carefully considering current error correction resources, we explore clear paths toward realizing this quantum advantage in practice.
