Quantum Compiler Developer

We are looking for a Quantum Compiler Developer who will join our team of Quantum Engineers and Physicists creating next generation quantum computers. The role involves mainly the development of algorithms and implementation of features to compile optimization problems to various types of quantum hardware making use of the ParityQC architecture.  The compiler is a central component of our software product ParityOS, which translates optimization problems from their raw mathematical formulation to a complete quantum program. 

As a Quantum Compiler Developer you will develop pioneering algorithms in discrete mathematics, joining us in designing and building a fully-featured and scalable software product.  You will explore fascinating mathematical puzzles, and you will design and implement efficient solutions in a fresh codebase using modern, maintainable code.  You will encounter many challenges which will give you the chance to grow in your role, and you will increase your knowledge by discussing and working within a world-class team of experts from around the world.

Required Skills & Experience

  • PhD or MSc in a quantitative field (computer science, physics, mathematics)
  • Systems programming skills in Python and Modern C++ (including C++11, 14, 17)
  • Understanding of Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Linear algebra, linear coding theory, graph theory
  • High degree of creativity and pro-activeness
  • Ability to work self-initiated and independently
  • Fluency in English

Preferred Experience

  • Software design principles (design patterns, SOLID)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and Test-Driven Design
  • Some knowledge of quantum computing, quantum information, or quantum error correction are a plus, but not required

Backend System Administrator

We are looking for a Backend System Administrator to manage our growing software infrastructure. At ParityQC, we are developing a software suite which includes compiler, hardware optimizer, and operating system for quantum computers. The software runs as a SaaS platform and therefore must be reliable, scalable and highly available.

As a Backend System Administrator your role will involve deploying and maintaining the backend for our Software-as-a-Service solution. In addition, you will also be responsible for the administration of our internal IT infrastructure e.g. maintaining and managing our Python-based company services on Exoscale cloud platform. You will be managing our network and improving /monitoring our existing security setup. This will also require monitoring/alerting server state. Lastly, the role will comprise of various data management tasks such as handling backup setup, data migration, data protection.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experienced with Python, Linux, Git, Docker, DevOps best practices 
  • Knowledgeable about Django, PostgreSQL, Docker Compose, Kubernetes
  • Notions of Traefik, Nginx, AWS, MacOS are a plus

Quantum Use Case Developer

We are looking for a Quantum Use-Case Developer to join our team of Quantum Physicists and Engineers creating the next generation of quantum computers.  This role involves the analysis and investigation of real-world use cases for quantum computation, and to develop mathematical models to best encode them onto quantum hardware using the ParityQC architecture.  These investigations are integral to the development of our main product ParityOS, a toolchain of software that translates optimization problems from its raw mathematical formulation to a complete quantum program. 

As a Quantum Use-Case Developer, you will develop pioneering models of real-world optimization problems in the realm of quantum computing.  You will invent novel mathematical formulations of industry-relevant problems such that they can best make use of the advantages offered by the Parity Architecture.  You will develop algorithms for both analog and digital quantum computers, and write code to implement and simulate your models in order to understand and maximize their performance.  You will encounter many challenges which will give you the chance to grow in your role, and you will increase your knowledge by discussing and working within a world-class, international team of experts.  The use-cases you develop will be valuable in connecting with customers who have real-world optimization problems to solve on near-term quantum computers and beyond.

Required Skills & Experience

  • PhD or Master’s degree in (theoretical) physics, mathematics or a related subject
  • Experience with mathematical modelling as well as with optimization problems and their complexity

Quantum Algorithm Developer

We are looking for a Quantum Algorithm Developer who will join our team of Quantum Physicists creating next generation quantum computers. The role involves mainly the development of algorithms and quantum hardware proposals using the ParityQC architecture. We are developing ParityOS, a toolchain of software that translates optimization problems from its raw mathematical formulation to a complete quantum program, that can be specifically customized for the underlying hardware platform.

As a Quantum Algorithm Developer, you will develop pioneering algorithms in the realm of quantum computing.  These novel quantum algorithms are specifically co-designed to run on near-term quantum devices. You will utilize the specific advantages of different hardware platforms, e.g., trapped ions, neutral atoms, or superconducting quantum computers to design performant algorithms and to propose how to experimentally realize the necessary algorithmic building blocks. We develop optimization algorithms both digital and analog for our architecture. The focus of our company is the co-development of hardware and software, which requires both theoretical knowledge of quantum information theory, as well as a deep understanding of the current qubit platforms. Your tasks involve creating innovative techniques and strategies to tackle optimization problems in the Parity Architecture as well as refining them and pushing their limits.

Required Skills & Experience

  • PhD or Master’s degree in (theoretical) physics, mathematics or related subject with a focus on quantum computation 
  • Deep understanding of at least of one of the current qubit platforms (atoms, ions, superconducting qubits, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of quantum computation and quantum information
  • Programming skills, in particular Python
  • High degree of creativity and pro-activeness
  • Ability to work self-initiated and independently, experience in research
  • Fluency in English

Preferred Experience

Backend Software Developer

We are looking for highly skilled and motivated software engineers (with or without physics background) to improve on our current backend, which handles compilation jobs and other similar compute-intensive tasks. We are looking for team players who are highly collaborative. Ideal applicants will have already worked in the SaaS industry. 

The task is to develop and maintain the SaaS infrastructure and the backend microservices which deliver our operating system worldwide. In the short term, this would entail container orchestration, logging, HPC infrastructure, maintenance of the cloud infrastructure and database management. You will also be responsible for the administration of our internal IT infrastructure e.g. maintaining and managing our Python-based company services on Exoscale cloud platform.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Programming languages: Python (Django, Celery)
  • Databases (PostgreSQL)
  • Message Queues (RabbitMQ)
  • Container Orchestration (Kubernetes or Docker Swarm)
  • 3-4 years of work experience within the industry
