Quantum Engineer

We are looking for a Quantum Software Engineer who will join our team to define the standards of future quantum computers. The role will be in constant evolution as the company grows and is suitable for people with different backgrounds in quantum, from general puzzle solvers to highly trained experts in specific fields.

As a Quantum Software Engineer you will develop pioneering algorithms in the realm of quantum computing, joining us in building the world’s most scalable architecture for solving optimization problems. You will encounter many challenges which will give you the chance to grow in your role, and you will increase your knowledge by discussing and working within a world-class team of experts from around the world.

Required Skills & Experience

  • PhD in quantum physics (theoretical physics), experience in quantum computing and/or mathematics
  • Programming skills (languages: Python, C, C++)
  • High degree of creativity and pro-activeness
  • Ability to work self-initiated and independently
  • Fluency in English

Preferred Experience

  • A proven track record quantum physics and in particular quantum information
  • German skills are a plus, but not required

Project management

The quantum computing ecosystem is still in its infant stage and most projects are financed by governmental grants and executed by consortia from academia and industry. At ParityQC we are involved in multiple national and international consortia within Austrian and European as well as US grants. Managing our grant projects is a position with great responsibility and requires self-management. 

As project manager you will be responsible for managing overall grant efforts, documenting payments and expenditure, optimizing the grant administration process, overseeing fund-raising, preparing progress reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, reviewing grant proposals, managing grant databases, engaging with donor agencies, educating staff on policies, and preparing financial reports. Your skills and expertise in successful project management will aid our organization in securing continuous funding, improving business opportunities through effective funding programs, and executing meaningful projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Methodical and strategic thinking.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent Project management and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Fluency in English and German

Preferred Experience

  • Budgeting and accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of auditing policies.
  • Knowledge of donor agencies and grant programs in Austria and/or Europe.

Backend Software Developer

We are looking for highly skilled and motivated software engineers (with or without physics background) to improve on our current backend, which handles compilation jobs and other similar compute-intensive tasks. We are looking for team players who are highly collaborative. Ideal applicants will have already worked in the SaaS industry.

The task is to develop and maintain the SaaS infrastructure and the backend microservices which deliver our operating system worldwide. In the short term, this would entail container orchestration, logging, HPC infrastructure, maintenance of the cloud infrastructure and database management. 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Programming languages: Python (Django, Celery)
  • Databases (PostgreSQL)
  • Message Queues (RabbitMQ)
  • Container Orchestration (Kubernetes or Docker Swarm)
  • 3-4 years of work experience within the industry
  • Experience in cloud computing, SaaS, and API development. 
  • High degree of creativity and pro-activeness
  • Ability to work self-initiated and independently
  • Capability to lead teams
  • Fluency in English

Preferred Experience

  • Publicly available repositories of sample backend/fullstack projects 
  • German skills are a plus, but not required
