Cybersecurity & DevOps Engineer

Build the security foundations of quantum computing

At ParityQC, security is not an operational afterthought. It is a fundamental part of how we build ParityOS and develop technology for the next generation of quantum computing.

We are looking for an exceptional, hands-on Cybersecurity & DevOps Engineer (DevSecOps) to shape the security architecture behind our software platform, development environments and internal technology infrastructure. You will take ownership of complex technical challenges and build security solutions that are automated, scalable and deeply integrated into the way our teams develop and operate.

Your work will go far beyond maintaining existing systems. You will engineer secure CI/CD pipelines, implement automated security controls and strengthen the integrity of our software supply chain and containerized environments. You will develop sophisticated automation, harden systems and cloud services, and build advanced observability and incident-response capabilities.

The role combines cybersecurity and DevOps engineering within our ParityOS team with responsibility for the resilience and security of our company-wide IT environment. This broad scope will allow you to connect product security, development infrastructure and operational security rather than treating them as isolated disciplines.

You will work with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with software engineers, quantum researchers, DevOps, Operations, Legal, customers and external partners across our locations. Through these interactions, you will help establish strong standards for security, traceability and compliance throughout our technology landscape.

This is an opportunity to define architectures rather than simply operate them, to turn security requirements into robust engineering solutions, and to make a lasting technical contribution in one of the most advanced and demanding fields of computing.

Cybersecurity & DevSecOps

  • Shape the security architecture of ParityOS and embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Build secure CI/CD pipelines and automate security testing across code, dependencies, containers and infrastructure.
  • Drive vulnerability management, security reviews and pen-testing from identification through remediation.
  • Strengthen software supply-chain security through secure build processes, dependency controls and SBOMs.

Secure Infrastructure & Operations

  • Secure and continuously improve cloud, network and endpoint environments, including identity and privileged-access management.
  • Implement effective hardening, patching, monitoring, logging, SIEM, EDR, backup and recovery capabilities.
  • Investigate security incidents, identify root causes and translate findings into lasting technical improvements.
  • Turn risks, policies and compliance requirements into scalable controls and support audits and the continuous development of our ISMS.

Your profile

  • Several years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, DevOps
  • Degree in computer science, IT, cybersecurity, theoretical physics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (PhD, Master, Diploma)
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and scripting, preferably Python or Bash
  • Good understanding of networks, firewalls, VPNs and secure system architectures
  • Experience with vulnerability management, system hardening and security monitoring
  • Independent, structured and pragmatic approach to technical problems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Very good English skills

Preferred experience

  • GitHub administration and GitHub Actions
  • SIEM, EDR or centralized logging platforms (security incident detection)
  • Terraform, Ansible or other infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Docker, Kubernetes or container security
  • Experience in security frameworks (ISO, SOC, etc.)
  • Pen-testing, SBOMs or software supply-chain security
  • Cloud infrastructure and network automation
  • Good German skills

  • A hands-on role with meaningful technical responsibility
  • The opportunity to shape our cybersecurity and IT architecture
  • Close collaboration with technical and operational teams
  • An international, agile and growing deep-tech environment
  • Flexible remote work combined with on-site collaboration in Innsbruck or Hamburg
  • Job: Full time
  • Remuneration based on experience
  • Place: Hamburg/Innsbruck
  • Contact: recruiting@parityqc.com
