ParityQC is a quantum architecture company founded on a straightforward concept: hardware and software working in parity.

History

ParityQC is a spin-off from the University of Innsbruck and the Austrian Academy of Science, founded by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Lechner and Magdalena Hauser in January 2020 together with computer pioneer Hermann Hauser. ParityQC offers a groundbreaking and patented architecture for quantum computers based on the LHZ architecture. The model was developed at the University of Innsbruck by Wolfgang Lechner, Philipp Hauke and Peter Zoller, in order to overcome the fundamental limitations of quantum computers and lead to scalable and optimized devices. The method was put into practice in 2015 and presented at the Quantum Annealing Conference (AQC) in Zurich. In the following years, inventions around the ParityQC Architecture led to a strong patent portfolio as foundation for the Parity ecosystem and concluded in founding of ParityQC.

Team

Our team at ParityQC is a diverse and multi-talented group, coming from every corner of the world, with a strong academic backbone and a forward-thinking attitude. In our daily work, we constantly try to break boundaries, challenge what is given for granted, and find the missing pieces in the quest for quantum advantage. The company is led by Magdalena Hauser and Wolfgang Lechner as co-CEOs. The cooperation that starts at a managerial level is encouraged throughout the rest of the company, with “parity” being not only a theoretical concept, but a cultural one too. ParityQC also fosters a very close relationship with the University of Innsbruck, where Wolfgang Lechner leads his research group focused on fundamental research on Quantum Optimization. Our pioneering work has been documented and benchmarked in several scientific papers.
